BACKGROUND |
Interleukin- (IL-) 19, part of the IL-10 family, contributes to a range of diseases and disorders, such as asthma, endotoxic shock, uremia, psoriasis, and rheumatoid arthritis. IL-19 is expressed in several types of tumor cells, especially in squamous cell carcinoma of the skin, tongue, esophagus, and lung and invasive duct carcinoma of the breast. Interleukin (IL) 19 have been identified to play a role in the regulation of epidermal functions and in inflammation. IL-19 is a type of anti-inflammatory cytokine. IL19 expression was stimulated by diverse cellular stresses, including inhibition of the DNA replication checkpoint kinase ATR (ataxia telangiectasia and Rad3-related protein), oncogene expression, replicative exhaustion, oxidative stress, and DNA double-strand breaks. The molecular features at the IL19 locus may modestly alter the establishment of HIV-1 infection. |

Active Recombinant Human IL-19 Protein was determined by SDS-PAGE with Coomassie Blue, showing a band at 22-30 kDa. |
Determined by its ability to induce STAT3 activation in Hela STAT3 LUC reporter cells. The ED50 for this effect is 5-10 ng/mL. |
